Three friends drowned in Punarbhoba River in Dinajpur Sadar upazila on Tuesday.

According to witness, the accident happened when the three friends–Kalu, 15, Nayan, 15, and Raju, 16, went to take bath at the Bangibecha Ghat of the river at about 12:00 noon.

They are students of three separate schools in Dinajpur.

Dinajpur Kotwali police officer-in-charge Khalequjjaman said police and a divers’ team from Nilphamari went at the spot and the divers’ team recovered the three bodies at about 4:00pm.
