Sylhet: The bodies of two flautists of a local band party, who went missing after a boat capsized in a canal of Goainghat upazila on Thursday night, were recovered on Friday afternoon, reports UNB.

The deceased are Gopen Lohar and Nayan Nayek.

Delwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Goainghat Police Station, said the boat carrying seven members of the band party sank in the Darikandi Bokdar canal at about 9:00pm after being struck by a storm while they were going to perform in a marriage ceremony in Darirpar of the upazila.

Five managed to swim ashore while two others went missing in the incident.

A fire fighting unit went to the spot on Friday afternoon and recovered Gopen’s body at about 3:00pm while that of Nayan at about 5:00pm.
