Rangamati Chakma Rajmata, Aroti Roy Chakma, wife of late Raja Tridiv Roy, died in the early hours of Monday. She was 81.

Aroti Roy, who had been suffering from liver disease, breathed her last at about 3:00am on the way to Rangamati from Dhaka by a helicopter, Rangamati Civil Surgeon Dr Sneha Kanti Chakma said.

Aroti, mother of Chakma Circle Chief Barrister Debashish Roy, was admitted to a private hospital in the city on 16 April, reports UNB.

She was being shifted to Rangamati from the hospital as her condition deteriorated on Sunday night.
