Fire breaks out at Chittagong commercial building
Chittagong: A fire broke out at a commercial building of Jubli road in Chittagong early on Tuesday.
Fire service official Ali Akber said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at the second floor of the six-storey building at about 7:00am.
Traffic police sub-inspector Saifuddin said the second floor of building is used as the branch offices of Uttara Bank and Prime Bank.
He said: ‘It is believed that, the Pedrollo Pump Company’s building caught fire from electric short circuit. However, police is trying to identify the actual reason behind the accident and to measure the damage by the fire.’
The fire fighter said most parts of the Uttara Bank office damaged by the fire.
