Sunamganj: Four members of a family were killed by electrocution at Moddhyanagar thana in Sunamganj on Tuesday morning.

The deceased are Jagdish Sarker, resident of Ramdigha village, his son Ranjit Sarker, daughter-in-law Rina Sarker, and his granddaughter Sonali Sarker.

The Moddhyanagar police said Ranjit came into contact with a live electric wire which was snapped and fell beside his residence at about 9:00am. Later, Jagdish also electrocuted to death as he came to rescue his son. Rina and Sonali met the same fate as they tried to release Jagdish and Ranjit from the wire.

The Moddhyanagar police officer-in-charge Mohammad Mazharul said we recovered the four electrocuted bodies from the spot.
