Chittagong: Four people including an auto-rickshaw driver were killed in a road accident on Chittagong-Kaptai road at Bodhupara area under Raozan Upazila of Chittagong on Wednesday.

The deceased are Ratan Banik, Jasim Uddin, and auto-rickshaw driver Ilias, hailing from different areas under Raozan Upazila. Another died on the way to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

Police and eyewitness said the accident occurred when a brick-laden mini-truck collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at about 5:30pm.

The truck was seized but its driver managed to escape, police said.
