Road crashes kill 3 in Rajshahi
Rajshahi: Three people, including a child, were killed in two separate road accidents in Charghat and Puthia upazilas of Rajshahi on Wednesday, reported UNB.
Hospital authorities said Nazmul Haque, a power tiller driver, and his helper Hasan, were killed in a head-on-collision between their vehicle and a passenger bus in Puthia upazila.
Local people said Nazmul Haque and Hasan were wounded severely as a Rajshahi-bound bus hit their power tiller at Baro Senbagh at about 1:30 pm.
Doctors declared Nazmul dead after he and Hasan were whisked off to the upazila health complex.
Severely injured, Hasan was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
Later he died at the hospital at about 4:30pm.
In another incident, seven-years-old Meem Khatun, daughter of Mukul Ali, a resident of Ashpur village, was killed as a human hauler rammed her in the morning.
Witnesses said Meem received severe wounds as a human hauler ran over her while she was crossing the road at about 7:30am.
She was rescued and sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where she died at about 11:30am.
