Dhaka: The country’s prime Eid-ul-Fitr congregation will be held at the National Eidgah on Bangladesh Supreme Court premises in Dhaka at 8:30am, if weather permits.

In case of inclement weather condition, the congregation will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque at 9:00am, said a Dhaka South City Corporation official.

Bangladesh Metrological Department said due to active monsoon, light to moderate rain is likely to occur in most places in Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Khulna, Rangpur, Rajshahi and Barisal.

Meanwhile, strict security measures have been taken to ensure foolproof security and safety at the National Eidgah during the country’s prime Eid congregation.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia told media that people would only be allowed to carry prayer rugs (jainamaz) to Eidgah.
