Rangpur: A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident at Mithapukur point on the Rangpur-Dhaka highway under Mithapukur upazila on Wednesday, police said.

The victim is Sohag Mian, 36, son of Shariful Islam of Shibganj Balurghat area in Bogra.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mithapukur police station Humayun Kabir told BSS tonight that Sohag was a member of Bangladesh Army of Dhaka Cantonment.

He was critically injured after a Dhaka-bound passenger bus from Rangpur hit his motorcycle from the opposite direction there this morning.

Local people sent him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH). But he succumbed on his way to the RMCH.
