On 25 June, Mahmudul Hasan, who received 80 per cent burn injuries in the incident, died at DMCH.

At least six people were killed and four others injured after a fire broke out at a shopping mall in the capital’s Uttara area on 24 June.

The fire broke out on the ground floor of Alauddin Tower Shopping Complex at about 6:15pm and shortly after that an elevator collapsed to the ground, said Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) officials.

Two other injured in the incident—Mahmudul Hassan’s 8-year old son Mustakin Hassan and one Mamun—are currently undergoing treatment at DMCH burn unit.
