Clash involving land leaves 6 injured in Panchagarh

Panchagarh: At least six people were injured in a clash between two groups over a land dispute at Phulpara village at Panchagarh Sadar on Friday evening.
Witnesses said Abdur Rahman and Khalil were involved in a row over seven bighas of land for long time.
On Friday afternoon, clash erupted as three persons led by Khalil tried to occupy the land.
Abdur Rahman and his people rushed to the land and tried to force Khalil and his men to leave the place.
At one stage they started fighting and that left at least six persons wounded. Of them, Fazlul Karim, in his sixties, Rozina, in her forties, and Rifat, a teenaged boy, were seriously injured.
Local people immediately took them to Panchagarh Sadar Hospital but the on-duty doctor Mahabul Alam referred them to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
Panchagarh Sadar Police officer-in-charge Mominul Islam confirmed the incident.
