Mymensingh: A garment worker was killed and 22 others were injured as a bus they were travelling by slewed sideways into a ditch from a bridge on Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway at Trishal in Mymensingh on Monday night.

The deceased was Habib.

Trishal Police Station Officer-in-charge Moniruzzaman said the Dhaka-bound bus from Sherpur plunged into the ditch breaking railing of the bridge in Signboard area at about 11:30pm as the driver lost control over its wheels, leaving Habib dead on the spot and 22 others injured.

The injured were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

They were returning to Gazipur to join their workplaces after Eid holiday, added the OC.
