Selfie leads to fall from 500ft height

Chittagong: A young man miraculously survived a fall from a 500-foot height of Khoirachhara waterfall in Mirsarai upazila while taking selfie on Friday afternoon, reports UNB.
Firefighters rescued Wasim Azgar, 30, a Hyundai company official and son of Shafi Ali Asgar of Mirpur in Dhaka, while he was hanging from shrubs 30-40 foot below.
Chittagong Fire Service control room officer Prahlad Singh said Wasim along with 6-7 of his friends came to the waterfall on a pleasant trip.
He suddenly fell from the peak of a hill above the water fall at about 1:30pm while taking selfies.
However, he got tangled with the shrubs 30-40 foot below from the hill peak.
On information, firefighters rushed in and rescued him alive at about 5:30pm after four hours of frantic efforts, said Jasim Uddin, deputy assistant director of Chittagong Fire Service.
Later, Wasim who received injuries to his head and waist was admitted to a private clinic, added the fire service official.
