Habiganj: Four members of a family were killed when a boat capsized in the Dhaleshwari River near Shibpur village in Lakhai upazila on Friday afternoon. reports UNB.

The deceased are Abdul Haque, 45, his son Mujahid, 6, daughter Zannat, 8, and nephew Sourav, 8, of Adampur village in Astagram upazila of Kishoreganj.

Rokon Uddin, chairman of Lakhai union council, said the boat carrying the four sank in the river at about 1:00pm while they were going to Sharifpur village of Astagram upazila.

Later, police with the help of locals retrieved their bodies from the river, added the chairman.
