Rajshahi: A minor girl drowned in a pond at Mollapara in Rajshahi city on Sunday.

The deceased is Saila Khatun, 7, a student of class II of Rajshahi Provat School and daughter of Shariful Islam of the area, reports UNB.

Rajpara police officer-in-charge Aman Ullah said Saila drowned in a pond near her house while she was taking bath at about 1:00pm.

After a hectic search, locals recovered the body from the pond at about 2:30pm.
