The images of nine militants killed during police raid at a Kalyanpur house in Dhaka was published by DMP.

Dhaka: Though the identities of eight of the nine slain Kalyanpur militants have been confirmed, no one of their family members has showed interest as of Saturday evening to receive their bodies for burial.

Besides, the body of another suspected slain militant is still remained unidentified as the sample of his fingerprint did not match with that of NIDs. Even no one of his family members or friends has come to identify his body, reports UNB.

Nine suspected militants were killed during police operation on the 4th floor of a 6-storey building ‘Taj Manjil’ in the city’s Kalyanpur area on 26 July.

The identities of seven suspected militants—Abdullah, Abu Hakim Nayeem, Tajul Haque Rashik, Aqifuzzaman Khan, Shehjad Rauf, Md Matiur Rahman, and Md Zubair Hossain—were confirmed after the fingerprint samples of their bodies matched with that of the corresponding NID cards in the same day evening. The body of another killed militant, Raihan Kabir, was identified by law enforcers on 28 July.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) deputy commissioner (media) Masudur Rahman said family members of Shazad Rauf and Zubair Hossain visited Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue but they did not officially inform the police to take the bodies.

He also said another body of the slain militant still remains unidentified.

Inspector (Operation) of Mirpur Model Police Station Mohammad Shahjalal filed a case against 10 people, including arrested militant Hasan, on Thursday last for their involvement in terror acts and abetting the slain militants.

The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit, a specialised unit of the DMP, was given the charge for investigating the case.

The Kalyanpur incident took place 26 days after the terror attack on Gulshan Holey Artisan Bakery that claimed lives of 20 hostages, including, 9 Italians, seven Japanese, one US citizen and an Indian. Five attackers were also killed in law enforcer’s operation.

Of the five terrorists, four were identified as Meer Sabeh Mubasheer, Rohan Imtiaz, Nibras Islam, Khairul Islam Payel and Shafiqul Islam Ujjal.

Like the relatives of Kalyanpur militants, the family members of the five Gulshan café attackers did not come to receive the bodies.

Their bodies have been kept at the mortuary of Dhaka Combined Military Hospital, said DC (Media) Masudur Rahman.
