Dhaka: A moderate earthquake shook Chittagong, Sylhet and their adjacent areas on Monday afternoon, reports UNB.

The tremor, measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale, was felt at about 4:01pm, according to the Met Office.

The epicenter of the earthquake was Myanmar, 507 km southeast of BMD Seismic Centre at Agargaon, Dhaka.

However, there was no immediate report of any damage or casualty.
