Tangail: Two people were killed when a truck rammed into a pickup at Deuhata on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Mirzapur upazila in Tangail on Friday.

The accident took place in the area at about 6:15am when a Dhaka-bound truck collided head-on with a Tangail-bound duck-laden pickup, leaving two riders of the latter dead on the spot, said Gorai highway police Officer-in-charge Khalilur Rahman.

Police arrested the truck driver but the one of the pickup managed to flee the scene.
