Noakhali: The bodies of two girls, who went missing when an engine-run boat on a pleasure trip capsized in choto Feni River in Companiganj upazila in Noakhali on Wednesday, were recovered on Friday.

The victims are identified as Rabita,14, and Marzan , 13, both of them were student of Saudia Hafezia Azgar Ali Dakhil Madrasa in Companiganj.

Fire service divers retrieved the bodies four kilometres away from where the boat sank near the bank of the river at about 7:00am, said Chand Mia, station leader of Companiganj Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Earlier, the engine-run boat on a pleasure trip with 40 people on board capsized in the Choto Feni River at Musapur Closure Ghat on Wednesday afternoon after being hit by strong currents, leaving three people missing.

Local people recovered the body of Kamrunnesa Pinky,18, wife of Zahid of Bijoynagar village.

The bodies of Rabita and Marzan were handed over to their families.
