Panchagarh: An two-year-old boy drowned in a pond at Shikarpur village under Sadar upazila of Panchagarh on Friday afternoon.

The deceased is Abu Bakkor, son of Akbor Ali of the village.

Sources concerned said Abu Bakkor suddenly slipped into the pond while he was playing on the bank of the water body.

The villagers rescued the infant from the pond but he died after sometime.
