Nilphamari: Five people were died after being electrocuted as three transformers exploded during storm at Kishorganj upazila in Nilphamari on Sunday night.

The deceased are Tariqul, Habu Mia, Lokman, Tafil Uddin, and Mosaf Ali.

The Kishorganj police Officer-in-charge Bajlur Rahman five people were electrocuted as three transformers blasted during storm at the village of Khamar Garagram in the upazila.

Later, a man was killed on the spot, two died on the way to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, while two others died undergoing treatment.

Local people said wires of electrical transformers of Palli Biddut cut off and sent electric current all over the area, which left around 13 injured.

The injured were taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for treatment.
