Natore boat capsize: 4 bodies recovered
Natore: The bodies of four people, who went missing after a boat capsized in the Padma river in Lalpur upazila on Tuesday, were recovered on Wednesday morning, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Jamal Uddin, 52, and Arzed Ali, 43, residents of Bilmaria of the upazila, Chander Ali and Bhasan Ali,28.
Fire service sources said the boat carrying about 50 farmers sank in the river while it was going to Polashir Char from Bilmaria Ghat in the upazila in the morning.
Forty-four of the passengers managed to swim ashore.
Immediately after the incident, the body of a farmer was recovered from the river while the rest five passengers remained traceless.
Fire service divers resumed the rescue drive in the morning and recovered the bodies of Jamal and Arzed 8km away from the spot and those of Chander Ali and Bhasan from near the accident spot.
