DHAKA: Rescuers drag out at least twelve bodies from the site of a subsided two-storey makeshift building that was put up on a swampy piece of land at Rampura in Dhaka on Wednesday late afternoon.
Fire Service rescuers feared more deaths as many more have still been trapped inside the sagged portion of the building.
The bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, police said.
The building, made of corrugated-iron sheet, had at least 20 rooms, each floor with equal number of rooms. Relatives of the victims said more had still been missing.
Motijheel police acting deputy commissioner Anwar Hossain said they had recovered eleven bodies so far and trying to rescue others.
Fire service deputy director Nurul Islam said they would continue operations until they find out the last person.
