Dhaka: Newly appointed Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Suja Alam on Thursday said there are many things that Pakistan can follow Bangladesh.

The High Commissioner said this when he made a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her office.

Briefing reporters after the meeting, PM's press secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhuri said the Pakistan High Commissioner highly appreciated the recent tremendous socioeconomic developments in Bangladesh, especially in renewable energy under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s able leadership.

Suja Alam conveyed Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's greetings to Sheikh Hasina. The Bangladesh Prime Minister also extended her greetings to Sharif through the High Commissioner.

The Pakistan envoy also thanked the Bangladesh government for hosting the Pakistan national cricket team in the ongoing cricket series.

Terming poverty the main enemy of the region, Hasina laid emphasis on working together for boosting regional cooperation to alleviate poverty further.

PMO secretary Suraiya Begum was present on the occasion.
