Noakhali: A schoolgirl was killed as a pickup van ran over her on the Mukulia-Charvata road at Charvata village under Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali on Monday morning.

The deceased is Rishita Ahmed Pakhi, 7, a student of class two of Mukulia Govt Primary School and daughter of Kefaetullah helal, resident of the same area.

Police said the accident occurred when a pickup van ran over Pakhi in the area at about 9:00am while she was going to school. She died on the spot.
