The driver of a truck and his assistant died as their vehicle collided with a bus in Kalihati Uapzila in Tangail on early Monday.

Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station Officer-in-charge (OC) Achhabur Rahman said the incident occurred at Hotea area of Dhaka-Rajshahi Highway.

The OC said a bus heading from Dhaka to the Northern part of the country hit a truck that was trying to overtake the bus at about 5:00am. The accident left the truck’s driver and his assistant dead on the spot. The bus driver quickly left the scene with his vehicle.

The bodies were kept at the police station, the OC said.
