Rajshahi: A policeman was killed as a truck hit his bike at Kashiadanga in Rajshahi city on Sunday morning.

The victim was sub-inspector Azhar Ali, 58, son of late Wahed Ali, hailing from Bhanchipara village in Baghmara upazila. He was performing his duty in a reserve force of Rajshahi range police.

Rajpara Police Station Officer-in-charge Aman Ullah said the moving truck hit Azhar's bike while he was returning home at Hadgram from Kashiadanga at about 10:00am, leaving him critically injured.

Azhar was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where doctor declared him dead.

Meanwhile, police seized the truck and detained its driver.
