Derailment halts Sylhet’s rail link with Dhaka, Ctg

Habiganj: Train communications of Sylhet with Dhaka and Chittagong was suspended on Friday morning following derailment of three compartments of a train at Noapara railway station in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj.
Manir Hossain, acting station master of Noapara rail station, said the engine of Sylhet-bound Parabat Express train from Dhaka caught fire when it entered the rail station at about 9:54am.
Three bogies of the train veered off the tracks after the fire incident, halting train movement on the Sylhet-Dhaka and Sylhet-Chittagong routes.
The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
However, no causality was reported till the filling of this report.
