Jhenaidah: A couple was killed and two other people were injured as a bus hit a battery-run easy-bike carrying them on Jessore-Jhenaidah road in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah on Tuesday, reports UNB.

The deceased are Mallik Das, 50, and his wife Chhayarani Das, 45, of Khodarhat in Sadar upazila of Jessore.

Sub-inspector of Kaliganj Police Station Abul Khayer said the accident took place at about 12:00pm when the Kushtia-bound bus of Garai Paribahan coming from Khulna crashed into the easy-bike at Keyabagan, leaving the human hauler passengers Mallik and Chhayarani dead on the spot and its two other passengers injured.

The injured people were taken to Kaliganj upazila Health Complex, said SI Khayer.
