Man run over by private car in Brahmanbaria

Ashuganj: A man was run over by a private car at Ashuganj upazila in Brahmanbaria on Saturday morning.

The deceased is Milon, a resident of the village of Phulkandi in Bhairab upazila of Kishorganj.  

The Brahmanbaria Khatihata Highway police recovered the body and handed over it to the deceased’s father Wahed Ali. The police also held a passenger of the private car, Faisal, and seized the car.

The Khatihata Highway police Officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Humayun Kabir said the Dhaka-bound private car was carrying phensedyl from Sylhet. The car hit Milon from behind as it neared Ashuganj intersection adjacent to Chishti Filling Station at about 7:00am and left Milon dead on the spot.

OC said the car also entered into a road side shop at Rawshan Ara Jalil Highschool Market as the driver lost his control over the steering and broke the shutter of the shop.

Humayun Kabir said police also recovered 20kilogram of illegal drugs were recovered from under the car bonnet.
