Sirajganj: Two people were killed and two others injured in a collision between a bus and a tank lorry on the Hatikumrul-Bonpara Highway in Khalkuna area of Tarash upazila in Sirajganj early on Tuesday.

The deceased are Rafiqul, in his thirties, assistant of the tank lorry’s driver, a resident of Jamalpur village of Shajahanpur upazila in Bogra, and Tajimul, in his fifties, from Adai village of Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila.

Hati Kumrul Highway Police Officer-in-charge Abdul Kader Zilani said the accident took place in the area at about 6:00am when the Rajshahi-bound bus collided head-on with the gas-laden tank lorry, leaving the duo dead on the spot.

On information police recovered the bodies.

The injured were admitted at Sirajganj General Hospital.

A case was filed in this connection.
