Mymensingh: A woman and her daughter were killed and two other people injured in a collision between a truck and a pick-up van in Shikarikandi area of Mymensingh on Tuesday morning.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

The Kotwali police Officer-in-charge Kamrul Islam said a speeding truck suddenly stopped in front of the pick-up van after overtaking it in the area at about 10:00am.

The pick-up crushed against the backside of the truck as the driver lost control over its wheel, leaving the duo, both passengers of the pick-up van, dead on the spot.

The injured were admitted at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
