Gazipur: Four warehouses of garment scraps were gutted in a fire in Tongi area Gazipur early on Tuesday.

Fire service officials said the fire broke out at a garment wastage warehouse at Bank Basti at about 3:00am and it soon spread to the adjacent three warehouses.

On formation, six firefighting units from Uttara and Tongi rushed in and extinguished the blaze after one and half an hours of efforts.

The origin of the fire and losses caused by the fire could not be ascertained yet.
