Sylhet: Two motorcycle riders were killed and one injured as their bike collided against a road roller at Niteshwar on the Moulvibazar-Srimongol Road in Sadar upazila of Moulvibazar early on Thursday.

The deceased are Ashfaq Ahmad, in his twenties, a resident of Kadupur village, and Kamrul Islam, around 25 years old, a resident of Mokambazar area of the upazila.

The injured, Bishal Ahmad, admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.

The accident took place when a motorbike carrying the trio hit a road roller parked in the area at about 2:00am, leaving them seriously injured, said officer-in-charge of Moulvibazar Model Police Station Akil Uddin.

The injured were rushed to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital where doctors declared Ashfaq and Kamrul dead while injured Bishal was referred to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
