Dhaka: Union leaders of the Readymade Garment (RMG) industry on Saturday demanded an end to harassment of workers.

Leaders of Garment Sramik-Karmachari Oikya Parishad, an association of RMG workers, said now workers are being subjected to harassment, arrest and false cases amid the unexpected situation emerged in RMG factories in Ashulia.

They also expressed concern over the closure of RMG factories.

The union leaders came up with the demands at a meeting of the association at its office at the city’s Bangabandhu Avenue.

Presided over by Nazmul Ahsan Jewel, the meeting was attended, among others, by Abdul Wahid, Ahsan Habib Bulbul, Baby Pathan, Alamgir Rony and Kazi Mohammad Ali.
