Lightning kills 2 farmers

Gazipur: Two farmers were killed and three others injured in a lightning strike at Beldia village in Sripur on Friday afternoon.
The 60-year old farmer, Nesar Uddin, was a resident of the village; and Safir Uddin, in his late thirties, was a resident of Madhupur village of Tangail.
Sripur police officer-in-charge Abdul Motaleb Miah said the thunderbolt struck the five farmers while taking lunch at the farmland after work, leaving them injured.
They were whisked off to a local hospital from where Nesar and Safir were shifted to Sripur Upazila Health Complex.
Later on the duo was declared brought dead.
