Sirajganj: Two potato traders were killed and another was injured when a truck fell into a ditch in Koddar Mor area of Sadar upazila on Thursday evening.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Officer-in-charge of Bangabandhu Bridge West Police Station Mohammad Daud said the Dhaka-bound truck with potatoes from the country’s northern region skidded off the road and plunged into the ditch as its driver lost control over the steering.

Three traders received serious injuries as potato sacks fell on them under the impact of the accident.

The injured were taken to Sadar Hospital where two of them died.
