Train communication of Dhaka with Khulna and western region of the country remained snapped following the derailment of a freight train at Ullahpara station area in Sirajganj on early Saturday.

Sirajganj Bazar Railway Police officer-in-charge Sayeed Iqbal said a compartment of the freight train coming from Ishwardi, Pabna veered off the tracks while entering the station at about 3:10am, halting train movement on the route, reports UNB.

A rescue train from Pakshi of Ishwardi upazila rushed in to salvage the derailed bogie at about 8:10am, said the OC.
