Four members of a family were killed and two others injured as a bus hit a battery-run auto rickshaw in Kakdanga area on the Khulna-Mawa highway under Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat on Monday morning.

The deceased are M Azad Sheikh, 44, his wife Sikha Begum, 38, their grandchildren Roni Sheikh and Tamanna Akhter, 8, hailing from Kodalia village of the upazila, reports BSS.

Fakirhat Police Station Officer-in-Charge Bazlur Rahman said the accident occurred when a bus hit the auto rickshaw in the area at about 10 am, leaving three passengers of the auto rickshaw dead on the spot and three others injured.

The injured were taken to Fakirhat Health Complex where doctor declared one of the injured dead.
