Kushtia: Two people were killed as a speedy truck collided head-on with a CNG-run auto rickshaw at Bheramara upazila in Kushtia on Wednesday night.

Two people were also injured during the accident.

The deceased are Masum Lal, in his twenties, and Bijoy Lal, around 30 years.

The Kushtia Highway police post in-charge Sub-inspector (SI) Abdul Jabbar said a Pabna’s Ishwardi-bound CNG-round auto rickshaw carrying four people collied head on with a speedy truck in the Baromile area of Bheramara on the Kushtia-Pabna Highway at about 11:00pm, and left Masum Lal dead on the spot, and three others injured.

Later, local people recovered three of the injured and took them to Kushtia General Hospital. Bijoy Lal died in the hospital undergoing treatment at about 12:30am.

The other injured are Joynal, the auto rickshaw driver, and Sheba. All the victims are residents of Chaitannapolli area of Borobazar in Kushtia.
