Khaleda Zia places wreath at Ziaur Rahman’s grave
Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Thursday paid homage to party founder and slain president Ziaur Rahman by placing a wreath at his grave, marking his 81th birth anniversary.
The BNP chief along with party leaders and activists went to Chandrima Udyan at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar at about 11:30am and paid homage to the slain president by placing wreaths at the grave.
Khaleda offered a munajat there seeking salvation of the departed soul of Zia.
BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and Amir Khasru Mahmud and other leaders and activists were present.
Leaders and activists of different associate bodies of the party also placed wreaths at Zia's grave on the occasion.
