Six workers were killed and several others injured in a landslide while cutting a hillock for lifting stone in Companiganj upazila of Sylhet on Monday morning.  

Pashchim (West) Islampur Union chairman Shah Jamal Uddin said when a group of workers were cutting a hillock, locally known as Shah Arpin, for lifting stone in the morning a big chunk of earth fell on them, leaving the duo dead on the spot and several others injured, reports UNB.

However, Companiganj police station officer-in-charge Bayes Alam said, 'We could confirm two workers' death in the incident.
