Light for Hopes Youth Foundation, a non-profitable voluntary organisation, arranged a Pitha Utsob (Rice Cake Festival) for the underprivileged children on Tuesday.
In the festival, around 200 underprivileged students of Alif School, an institution run by Apon Foundation, at Rayerbazar in Dhaka, served with five types of winter cakes.
Light of Hopes Youth Foundation President Saif Zaman said our event was for the poor children, who were deprived from the taste of winter cakes although a class of the society is enjoying the sweetness of the pithas.
The foundation’s General Secretary Abdullah Al Noman said from humanitarian aspect we are organising the cake festival for last three years and our efforts will be sustained in future as well. We are also asking the rich people of the society to contribute in our initiative.
Members of Apon Foundation and Light of Hopes Youth Foundation were present during the festival.
