Gopalganj: Three people were killed and 32 others injured in a collision between a bus and a truck on Dhaka-Khulna highway at Tilchara in Kashiani upazila on Monday.

The deceased were Amir Ali, 70, of Kashiani village, Hitler Sheikh, 35, bus driver and son of Tuku Sheikh of Haridaspur village in Sadar Upazila, and Khadiza Begum, 60, of Joynagar village in Kalia upazila of Narail district.

The Gopalganj-bound bus from Baspur collided head-on with the Dhaka-bound vegetable-laden truck, leaving 35 people injured, said Aminul Islam, police super of Gopalganj.

The injured were taken to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex, Gopalganj General Hospital and Faridpur Medical College Hospital.

Of them, three died at the upazila hospital.
