Three people, including a woman, were killed and 10 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on Dhaka-Tangail highway at Nagar Jalpai intersection near bypass in Sadar upazila of Tangail on Friday night.

The deceased are truck driver Asaduzzaman, 27, of Bogra, Habibur Rahman, 32, of Mymensingh and bus passenger Sumaiya Akter, 18, of Bogra, reports UNB.

The accident took place around 8:00pm when a Dhaka-bound potato-laden truck from Bogra collided with the Bogra-bound bus coming from opposite direction, leaving three people dead on the spot and 10 others injured, said in-charge of Elenga Highway police camp SI Shah Alam.

The injured were taken to Tangail Medical College Hospital.
