Munshiganj: Five shops were gutted in a fire which broke out at Nagar Kasba Bazar in Mirkadim municipality area of Sadar upazila in Munshiganj on Thursday night.

Fire service officials said the fire broke out at a laundry shop around 10:30pm and spread around soon.

On information, a firefighting unit rushed in and extinguished the blaze after one hour of frantic effort.

The affected shop owners claimed that the extent of loss caused by the fire would go up to TK 40 lakh.
