Natore: Two people were killed when a pickup van hit a truck from behind at Srirampur on Banpara-Hatikumrul highway in Baraigram upazila on Saturday morning.

The deceased are Phulchand, 35, of Bhuapur upazila in Tangail and Shahid, 35, of Ishwarganj upazila in Mymensingh, reports UNB.

Banpara Highway police station officer-in-charge GM Shamsun Nur said the accident took place around 6am when a fish-laden pickup van from Mymensingh hit a stationary truck from behind, leaving the duo, passengers of the van, dead on the spot.

On information, highway police recovered the bodies and sent those to Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
