MP Liton murder: Kader’s aide ‘confesses’ involvement

Shamsuzzoha Sarker, personal assistant of former Jatiya Party lawmaker from Gaibandha-1 constituency Dr Abdul Kader Khan, reportedly confessed before a Gaibandha court on Sunday to his involvement in the killing of Awami League lawmaker Manjurul Islam Liton.
Additional district magistrate recorded the statement of Shamsuzzoha, under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), said additional police super (A circle) Rabiul Islam, reports UNB.
Shamsuzzoha kept the firearm, used in the killing mission, under his custody and helped the other killers make the mission a success, said the police official.
Police detained him from Sobhaganj of the upazila three days back, locals said.
On February 26, Kader Khan, who was arrested for his suspected involvement in the killing of Gaibandha-1 MP Manjurul Islam Liton, gave confessional statement before a court.
Detectives arrested him from his residence at Rahmannagar in Bogra district town on February 21.
Liton was shot at point blank range by miscreants at his village home at Masterpara in Bamandanga union of Sundarganj upazila on December 31.
He was admitted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
