Saudi Arabia has rejected Bangladesh’s proposal for increasing quota for the Hajj pilgrims, according to a religious affairs ministry press notice.
Issued on Tuesday, the notice said the government had recommended Saudi authorities to allow 25,000 more hajj pilgrims to go to Mecca apart from the existing 1, 01,758, but Saudi Arabia rejected the proposal.
The notice also included instructions for the hajj agents, that had been selected for sending pilgrims, to open accounts with Saudi banks and for the completion of others relevant procedures within 18 June.
Agents failing to complete all the procedures within the said time will fail to send pilgrims and may be subjected to legal action, according to the notice.
