Dhaka-North Bengal rail link snapped

Tangail: Rail communication between Dhaka and North Bengal was snapped as three compartments of Lalmonirhat Express derailed near the Bangabandhu Bridge East railway station in Tangail early on Thursday.
The railway authorities said three compartments of the intercity train derailed at about 3:45am on Thursday. Four Dhaka-bound trains also stuck at the Bangabandhu Bridge west railway station due to the derailment.
Bangabandhu Bridge East railway station master Nurul Huda said the rail links of Dhaka and North Bengal has been temporarily snapped as three compartments of Lalmonirhat-bound train from Dhaka derailed.
Some 10 people of the train were slightly injured in the incident, said Bangabandhu Bridge East police station Officer-in-charge.
A relief train from Dhaka is on its way to the spot to recover the derailed compartments, said the station master.
